Orange Plaza Paseo Streetscape Design Study

Client: City of Orange

The Arroyo Group is working with the City of Orange to explore two options to continue elements of the Orange Plaza Paseo, which was a temporary COVID-19 closure of Glassell Street, one of the principal street of the Old Towne Orange. One option consists of a standardized parklet design, and the other option consists of a seasonal paseo, or summertime pedestrian mall concept. The project has responded to the community’s goals of consistency, high quality and keeping with the National Register Historic District, while also ensuring that the options fulfill key prerequisites of placemaking, such as a diversity of activities and attractions for different users, public art, historic markers, and branding.
